Warm-up

Here's a collection of warm-ups done before work. The drawings are in chronological order. At first I thought about just drawing only black and white sketches but when I realized that I can do that under 3 - 5 minutes, I thought of trying to paint over the sketches. I don't paint that much at all so I thought it would be nice to practice it during warm-ups.

There are lots of ups and downs in these sketches. You can tell when I knew exactly what I was drawing and when I was struggling. I learned that one of my bad manners is that I keep drawing way too many details even though it isn't really needed. This happens especially with simple subjects where details are not necessary. I have to avoid this because that's often my downfall in my drawings. Pay more attention, observe and keep things simple.

Photo references from Google were used in all of them.

The blog will be on hiatus for the next 3 weeks so don't expect anything new for a while!

Too many birthdays

Birthday cards. Colours may vary from the originals and the lighting isn't the best in all photos. I apologize for that!

There was two more cards but I never managed to take photo of them.

Happy Holidays!

I know that is a little bit too early but I don't care. Still, Happy Holidays!

Here's a bunch of random doodles done on weekends. Some of them are quite forced because.. well, I forced myself to draw something. After I started working as a full-time employee at Rovio I didn't really draw anything on my spare time. Because of that I tried to develop a habit to draw at least something on weekends to keep me interested in drawing and keep track of my skills.

There was many up and downs while drawing these. I also learned some very valuable things about drawing and myself. But that's another story for some other day..

Doodles!

This time.. gray backgrounds!

My friend drew a great picture of me. I'm using it as my avatar right now! I also changed the titlecard on top.

I put watermark on my sketches just in case if they start to wander around the internet. At least people will know where they come from.

Everytime when I start a new sketchbook I have to draw a very detailed sketch in the first or second page. Because then I can draw bunch of more or less great sketches and never worry if they all look horrible because I will always have at least one good drawing. Silly, isn't it?

I really envy artists who can draw in public. So, I took a big step and forced myself to draw in a train. It was indeed a great accomplishment, except that I was the only one in the train.

A proud and yet tired looking lioness.

 Spooky bunny. Yes.
